It all Starts With A Personal Consultation
The best way to understand your skin needs is to come in for a personal consultation. I will spend time with you looking over your skin, understanding your goals and making an assessment. I will also answer any questions or concerns you may have. Below is list of all of the potential services that we may discuss as part of your beauty plan.
You’ve probably heard of Botox injections, but have you ever considered how it might help your skin? Botox is now the most common elective procedure in modern medicine, and for good reason. Botox works by blocking certain chemical signals from nerves, mostly signals that cause muscles to contract. A thin needle is used to inject tiny amounts of botulinum toxin into your skin or muscles to temporarily relax the facial muscles that underlie and cause wrinkles, such as frown lines between the eyebrows, crow’s-feet, the lines that fan out from the corners of the eyes, forehead furrows, and the horizontal lines that form when you raise your eyebrows. I have performed countless Botox injections, and as a result more patients are feeling happy and confident.
Injections are $10 per unit. Dr. Johnson will consult with you to determine the correct treatment plan. The following are rough estimates:
Smooth wrinkles between the eyebrows: 12 units or $120
Smooth wrinkles between the eyebrows and forehead: 18 units or $180
Smooth wrinkles around the mouth: 20 units or $200
Medical Chemical Peel
Sometimes just clearing off that top layer of skin and starting fresh can make your face feel amazing and clean. Medical peels help you do just that. A chemical solution is applied to the skin, and as the solution dries, the chemical “blisters” and eventually peels off. When it does, your skin is left feeling silky and smooth.

Juvederm Filler Injections
Juvederm injections work similarly to Botox, but using a different type of medicine. Juvederm injections can help improve some of the skin damage we suffer from time, stress, and sun. Juvederm is a Hyaluronic acid dermal filler. Hyaluronic acid is a substance naturally found in our bodies and it works by lubricating joints and our eyes, and to keeping the skin supple by binding to water molecules in skin cells. As we age, Hyaluronic acid is one of several substances that decrease. This decrease leads to drier skin, progressive loss of volume, and the development of fine lines and wrinkles. Applying Hyaluronic acid through injection restores moisture and raises lines and folds for a smoother, more youthful appearance.

At the Phoenician Salon, I am proud to be able to use a new diamond-tip microdermabrasion machine that treats skin issues more effectively and safely. Microdermabrasion is a technique that your doctor can use to treat your skin, and it works similar to exfoliation, but with much more profound results, and can offer huge benefits to the health and appearance of one’s skin. In this type of treatment, dead skin cells are exfoliated and vacuumed off the face with the machine that uses microdermabrasion tips covered in tiny diamonds. As part of your treatment services, I can also provide you a prescription for a skin care product to help you maintain your results.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q. How safe are the treatments?
A. All of the services I provide are considered safe procedures. I take the time and care to make sure my patients receive the right treatments for them, taking all factors into consideration to provide the safest and most effective options to my patients. Having an experienced and well-trained doctor do you aesthetic medicine treatments is absolutely key to getting the best, and safest result. As a board certified Medical doctor, you can rest easy knowing that I have the experience and training necessary to provide the best care for you.
Q. How long does an appointment take?
A. A personal consultation will take about 15 minutes, so I can get to know you, understand your needs, and start developing a skin care plan tailored to you.
Q. What would I expect after my appointment?
A. You will look fine after your appointment. For chemical peels you can expect peeling and flaking starting with the next day and a few following. This will not be dramatic, but if you have a special occasion or appointment, you may want to plan time around that.
Q. What is a filler?
A. Dermal fillers are used by doctors to help to diminish facial lines and restore volume and vitality to the face. As part of the aging process, the facial muscles must work closer to the skin surface, so smile lines and crow’s feet become more apparent. Dermal fillers can be used to plump thin lips, fill out shallow contours, soften creases and wrinkles, and improve the appearance of old scars.
Q. Will a chemical peel work for acne scars?
A. Chemical peels can be a great and effective tool for combating acne scars. Using a peel in combination with other techniques like microdermabrasion can provide stunning results and restore vitality to scarred skin.
Q. Can I go out in the sun after a chemical peel?
A. You’ll need to wear an SPF of 15 minimum on your face for a few days after the peel because it will be fresh, new exposed skin for the top layer.
Q. Botox before and after. What Can I expect?
A. Before a Botox treatment, you’ll consult with me to
determine if Botox is the right treatment for you skin. We’ll go over your medical history and needs, and get you prepared for the treatment. A week before the treatment, I’ll advise you not to take any medicines that thin the blood such as Aspirin or ibuprofen.
After the procedure, don’t touch your skin where the Botox was injected. Avoid rubbing and massaging the treated area for 24 hours because you don’t want to make the Botox spread to other unintended muscles. You may need to avoid strenuous activity for a short period of time. Once the area is completely healed, you can expect a smoother, younger looking face and a boost of confidence.
